5 Favorite DIY Face Masks

With the seasons changing and the cooler temps rolling in, it is very important you make sure to take care of your skin this fall and winter.  Having healthy skin doesn't always mean you have to break the bank either!  Below I have compiled a list from around the interwebs full of my favorite DIY face masks for you to try that will hydrate your skin and leave your face with a beautiful, natural glow.

1.  Mashed Papaya Pulp + 2 TBSP Milk + 1 TBSP Honey

Mix the mashed papaya pulp with the milk and honey.  This will give your skin a beautiful glow and the honey will hydrate your skin.

2.  10 Blueberries + 1 TBSP Plain Yogurt

Mix the blueberries and yogurt together.  Apply for 15 minutes.  This mask will help decrease inflammation and soften the skin.

3.  Lemon Juice + Plain Yogurt + 1 TSP Matcha Green Tea Powder

One of the biggest mistakes people make in the cooler months is forgetting to protect their skin from harmful UV rays.  Matcha green tea is high in polyphenols which can help protect the skin from damage caused by those harmful UV rays.  Add a little bit of lemon juice to the yogurt, add 1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder, and mix them all together.

4.  3 TSP Gram Flour + 1.5 TSP Ground Turmeric Powder + 5 Drops Oil + 3-4 TSP Milk

Turmeric is a great antioxidant.  Mix 3 teaspoons of gram (besan) flour, 1.5 teaspoons for ground turmeric powder, 5 drops of oil (avocado, almond, or grapeseed), and 3-4 teaspoons of milk for consistency together.  This mask will help reduce inflammation, hydrate for smoother skin, and even skin tone.

5.  1 TBSP Honey + 1 TSP Nutmeg + 1 TSP Cinnamon

This all natual mask is for anyone with sensitive skin.  Mix 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of nutmeg, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon together well.  Leave on for 30 minutes and rinse with water.
